Marianne is a practicing visual artist with an educational background that includes Strykejernet Painting School in Oslo, sculpture studies at Coventry University in England, and photography training at the Sørlandet School of Photography.
She has been working at Agder since 2001 and thrives in the creative environment alongside passionate students. Marianne loves knitting, carving wooden spoons, turning cups, binding books, and chiseling stone—and she’s always happy to share her techniques, inspiration, and creative joy.
You’ll usually find her in the workshop or classroom, but if not, she’s likely out walking with the other Marianne—or enjoying a good cup of coffee by the fireplace with students who need help tackling knitting challenges. Marianne teaches the electives Knitting and Coffee Bar—a perfect combination!
