Torunn has a master’s degree in biology from Tromsø, The Arctic University of Norway. She has worked several years with nature education in the Norwegian Botanical Society and is equally enthusiastic about plants and animals. Torunn has also studied nature guiding in Lofoten and is passionate about making nature accessible, exciting, and understandable for everyone.
In addition to being a proud biology nerd, Torunn is a big fan of campfire coffee, scenic swims, film scores, baking, chocolate, barefoot running, and having far too many art projects going at once. One of her favorite quotes is “Not all those who wander are lost” – a fitting motto for a biologist who happily gets lost in the hunt for new species.
She’s previously been both a student and a teaching assistant at Agder folkehøgskole, and knows the school environment well. With her warm and engaging style, she creates a safe and inspiring learning space – both outdoors and in the classroom.
Some of the most rewarding experiences I know come from helping create meaningful moments that bring us closer to nature, to other species, to each other, and to ourselves.
