The unrest in the Middle East created problems for the Global students. Their return trip was supposed to go via Abu Dhabi. The airline Etihad cancelled the flight home without offering any alternative options. The crisis caused difficulties for quite a few travelers.
In addition, fuel rationing has already begun in Sri Lanka and is expected to worsen. We are therefore grateful to have them safely back now.
They eventually managed to depart via New Delhi on March 20. This meant a few extra days in Sri Lanka, which were mostly spent enjoying some quiet time at the beach.
